Description
This is a digital photo collectioncontaining over 300 images of vintage automobile-style "professional car" ambulances (no trucks, vans, panel vans, or SUVs in this lot). Taken mostly during the 20th Century, they include Cadillacs, Oldsmobiles, Packards, Chevrolets, LaSalles, Buicks, Pontiacs, and other venerable makes with bodywork by Superior, Miller, Miller-Meteor, Eureka, Cotner-Bevington, Henney, S&S, National, Memphis, and other more obscure builders. The rigs are from fire companies, first-aid squads, emergency squads, rescue squads, life saving crews, hospitals, police forces, private transport services, and other private companies and owners. All photos have been restored to their original brilliance, clarity, and color. See the listing pictures for typical examples (the photos on the disc will look much better than these low-res copies). Basic informational details are contained within each photo's file-name
, as shown in the listing examples.
NOTE:
These photos are available on either a CD / DVD disc or a USB "memory stick" flash drive. If neither option is specified when you order, you will receive a disc

John Floyd was a prolific photographer and collector of firefighting and rescue apparatus photos. After John passed away at his Laurel, Maryland home in August 2020, his family donated his collection to The Laurel History Boys, Inc.—a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that preserves and shares the history of his hometown. As both a tribute to John and an aide to our mission, we are honored to reissue this incredible digital photo compilation that he originally produced.
